Mandatory Insurance in Texas
Motorcycle Insurance Requirements
In Texas, you are required to have liability insurance before registering and operating a motorcycle or off-road vehicle on public roads or public land. Mandatory coverages include Bodily Injury Liability, Guest Passenger Liability and Property Damage Liability.
Texas-required minimum limits of liability coverage for Bodily Injury (BI) are $30,000 per person, $60,000 per accident, and $25,000 Property Damage (PD) coverage per accident.
